The Ghana School Feeding Programme (GSFP) is a key social protection intervention delivered by the GSFP National Secretariat under the supervision of the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection. Over the past 11 years, the GSFP has remained focused on its commitment to deliver “one hot nutritious meal to each child per school day" in deprived communities across the country’s 216 districts.

Currently the GSFP covers 5,285 schools providing one hot nutritious meal per school day to an estimated 1.7 million school children, approximately 39.6 per cent of Ghana's school children in public kindergarten and primary schools.

As part of its current priorities, the GSFP is embarking on an expansion drive to add on 855 schools in 75 districts across the country. This will automatically add a total of 256,500 new beneficiaries to the school feeding programme.
