BACKGROUND AND OBJECTIVES

Due to the constant growth of Africa's population, the continent needs 20 million new jobs annually. This goal is only achievable in cooperation with the private sector. In order to realize employment-related investments with companies, the Special Initiative “Decent Work for a Just Transition" (Invest for Jobs), commissioned by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), works with African countries that are committed to reforms; and support them to create more and better jobs and therefore providing future prospects for the local population.
